Featured Farm: Meadowbrook Garden Club | Spring Valley, California
At Meadowbrook Apartments, growing fresh food is also growing curiosity, confidence, and connection.
Since 2023, the Meadowbrook Garden Club has been growing with a Flex Farm alongside the Heaven’s Windows team.
Together, they donate approximately 325 pounds of fresh food each year while giving young growers hands-on opportunities to learn where food comes from, explore hydroponics, and share what they grow with their families, friends, and neighbors.
“Fork Farms has opened the pathway for the youth participants to envision an outdoor gardening space and what that may look like for our Meadowbrook community,” said Angela Kretschmar, Executive Director of Heaven’s Windows.
That is food access in action: growing fresh food today while helping more young people see what they can grow tomorrow.
Thank you to Heaven’s Windows, Project Access and the Meadowbrook Garden Club for growing with purpose.
