  1. Water: The CropBox is equipped with two 100 gallon water reservoirs. These reservoirs typically will need to be refilled once or twice a week. The CropBox is equipped with automatic watering valve so a hose or a direct water line can connect to it. The user will need to install an underground water pipe to the container (recommended) or run a hose to the CropBox for automatic watering.

  2. Internet: The CropBox will need access to wireless internet in order to maintain it remotely. You may choose to install a router, directly wire it to a modem located in a nearby structure or purchase a cellular data wireless hotspot. The steel container often limits some of the wireless availability from nearby wireless routers. If you choose not to enable wireless accessibility, the software will still work and record the changes in the container without the ability to access the monitoring system remotely.

  3. Dimensions:The CropBox is built from a refrigerated high cube shipping container, it’s dimensions are: 40’ long by 8’wide by 9.5’ high. The door in the front is 4’ wide x 7.5’ highWeight:Approximately14,500 lbs

  4. Site Prep: The site should be level. If un-level, theCropBox rests on it four corners and as long as the four corners are level, grading the site is not necessary if there is a slight slope. Concrete blocks or a poured concrete sonotube forms are typically used for a foundation at the four corners of the CropBox.

  5. Electricity: The CropBox includes a prewired electrical box. Power supplied to this box should be able to support up to 144A This will not be a typical amp draw, but is representative of the maximum amps the CropBox could use. It’s up to user of the CropBox to determine if a meter will be needed from the power company or if the CropBox can be wired into a neighboring electrical box. Wiring into the electrical box is the user’s responsibility as well. All CropBoxes are wired 220V SinglePhase.
